FX’s acclaimed “Shōgun” limited series has had a strong debut on streaming.
According to Disney, the premiere episode of the limited series has pulled in 9 million views globally across Hulu, Disney+ and Star+ in its first six days on those services. A view is total stream time divided by runtime.
That figure has internationally made it the No. 1 general entertainment series for the company to date – surpassing the launch of “The Kardashians”.
On the domestic front, it has come in ahead of “The Bear” to become the No. 1 FX premiere on its streaming platforms.
As Disney so rarely releases streaming data, it’s difficut to compare it to other things. Recent launch figures it has shared include 13 million in six days for the launch of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” and 14 million in the first week for “Ahsoka”
Three episodes of the series are now streaming and will continue every Tuesday through April 23rd.
