It started out as Point Break in cars over people who jacked DVD players. It ended up as a globe-trotting, petrol-powered super-spy franchise about fambly. Now, it is finally confirmed, Fast & Furious will end with Fast XI. One last ride.

Fast X and Fast XI were set as the two-part finale, but then Diesel was talking up a three part finale instead and Universal were on board. Not anymore.

Diesel has dropped a new message on Instagram and, as always, it makes you think “Hold on, you are talking about Fast And Furious… right?” and not discovering dark matter while curing cancer. In it, he confirmed this is the end of the road:

“Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting…

While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.

Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen. This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.”

This is also the first time Diesel has given an update on the movie since his former assistant tried suing him for sexual battery in December, regarding an incident in 2010. Diesel has consistently denied any wrongdoing and there has been no more news on that front.

The annoying thing is that you know we are all going to check out Fast XI eventually, right? The last one ended on one hell of a cliffhanger and despite any better judgment, you kinda have to know how it turns out.
