DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation are reportedly developing a currently untitled film based on the 2022 six-issue limited comic series “The Jurassic League” according to The InSneider.

The story unfolds on a prehistoric version of Earth from an alternate reality where the characters of DC Comics are anthropomorphic dinosaurs.

On this world, Superman is a Brachiosaurus, Batman is an Allosaurus, and Wonder Woman is a Triceratops. Daniel Warren Johnson and Juan Gedeon created the comic.

The series was met with a positive response with comparisons drawn to the likes of “Primal” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” in its influences.

James Gunn and Peter Safran will reportedly produce the feature which likely won’t be named “Jurassic League” to avoid brand confusion.

“Minions” writer and “The Lego Batman Movie” producer Brian Lynch will write the film which marks the second Warner Bros. Animation title for the new DC Studios, the first being Gunn’s own “Creature Commandos” series debuting later this year.
