With the strikes over, various series have been gearing up for production on new seasons with a bunch starting this month ranging from “Cobra Kai” to “The Last of Us”.

One title that we know is heading back into production, but hasn’t been clear in terms of dates is Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the manga and anime juggernaut “One Piece”.

This week, in an interview with Digital Spy, actor Taz Skylar finally offered an update regarding when he will return to the show’s filming locations in South Africa to get to work as his character Sanji alongside the rest of the crew of the Going Merry like Inaki Godoy’s Monkey D. Luffy and Mackenyu’s Roronoa Zoro.

“I know they’re working on it. I know we have general dates so as to when we are going back to South Africa, which isn’t too long from now. I love the way that they’re adapting it, I love what they’re doing with each one of our characters.

We all as a cast, as a team, as a crew, we are so excited to get back together, because the first time was such a great experience and we made so many great friends. And we love South Africa, so we all can’t wait to go back there this year and hopefully knock it out of the park again.”

The comments suggest it isn’t going forward in the next few weeks but should hopefully be returning to work in the first half of this year. It also means we should expect casting announcements shortly as no new additions have been officially announced yet.

The new season is expected to adapt the Arabasta saga as the crew enters the Grand Line, and will introduce numerous famed characters like Tony Tony Chopper, Nico Robin, Portgas D. Ace, Crocodile, Smoker and Dr. Kureha.
