Alana Haim (“Licorice Pizza), Teyana Taylor (“A Thousand and One”), Wood Harris (“Creed III”) and Shayna McHayle (“Support the Girls”) have been added to the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film.
They join a list that already includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina King and Chase Infiniti in the project which is currently shooting and will continue production for at least another month.
Details of the project remain under wraps but Anderson (“The Master,” “There Will Be Blood”) is rumored to be doing another adaptation of a Thomas Pynchon work like he did with “Inherent Vice”.
In this case, it’s rumored (via DanielRPK) to be an adaptation of Pynchon’s 1990 novel “Vineland” albeit with the story moved to the present day rather than the Reagan-era of the original.
The book follows a group of people in 1984 dealing with the consequences of their lives in the sixties, albeit still passionate about what they do. It’s then an unwelcome face appears from the past.
Tidbits from the set have seen all sorts of interesting little things emerge from DiCaprio sporting a hell of a moustache to casting calls requiring martial arts training to captured footage of a police car chase. No word as yet on a potential release.
