The Xbox developer direct presentation is currently underway with the biggest reveal being “Indiana Jones and The Great Circle” which is coming later this year.

The new game hails from “Wolfenstein: The New Order” developers MachineGames. The story takes place in the gap between “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”.

The game appears to be predominantly first person for much of the gameplay, though there does appear to be the odd third-person sequence too (but they could be cinematic/QTE).

Gameplay seems akin to a blend of “Tomb Raider” and “Uncharted” style cinematics and puzzles, but with the “Wolfenstein” style first-person combat and interface – potentially to try and differentiate it.

There’s also the usual Indiana Jones tropes – Nazis, the iconic music, and so on along with actors impersonating Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and the late Denholm Elliott as Marcus Brody. Troy Baker has reported been confirmed as playing Indiana.

There’a also plenty of globe trotting with the trailer spanning Sukhothai, Egypt, the Himalayas and beyond. The game is due for release on Xbox and PC, via GamePass, later this year.
