Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll are reportedly set to return as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in Marvel Studios’ “Daredevil: Born Again” series for the Disney+ service.
The InSneider broke the news in a Friday night newsletter posting, the studio has yet to officially confirm at this time.
The pair are reprising the roles they played across all three seasons of the “Daredevil” series on Netflix, along with multiple episodes of “The Defenders” and “The Punisher”.
The news comes as a very welcome surprise as before now it seemed as though neither actor was returning for the series, and not for lack of desire or enthusiasm on either of their parts going by interview quotes.
Rather, it appeared as though Disney wasn’t going to include the characters back when ‘Born Again’ was planned as an eighteen-episode season, which was later found out to be more of a legal procedural.
Then came the news in October that the series, which had halted production due to the strikes, was set to be completely creatively overhauled into something more akin to the old Netflix series.
Head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman stepped back, with Dario Scardapane (“Jack Ryan” “The Punisher”) taking over as the new showrunner, whilst Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (“Loki,” “Moon Knight”) are now the directors.
Marvel is keeping some scenes from the few episodes that have already been shot, but will shoot new scenes and material for those. Most of the show’s run remains left to film and is expected to be shot throughout much of the year.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio recently reprised their respective Daredevil and Kingpin roles in Marvel Studios’ “Echo” series. That show launched this week and, combined with comments from Marvel and recently altered listings on the Disney+ service, have confirmed that the Marvel Netflix series are officially in MCU canon.
