DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn says the upcoming second season of “Peacemaker” won’t be confusing in terms of continuity.
Whilst Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran’s new interconnected DC Universe is starting over from scratch, one of the few exceptions is Max’s “Peacemaker” series.
The first season of that show took place in the previous DC Extended Universe, the second will be a part of the new DCU which commences with Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy” film and “Creature Commandos” animated series.
Asked on Threads if the second season of “Peacemaker” will be “totally different” than the first due to the reboot, Gunn says: “You’ll have to wait and see how that works out!”.
Then asked why not just have it be a new show, to which he responded: “Because it’s my favorite thing to do, it’s the biggest original Max show ever, and I have a way in. It won’t be confusing.”
Much of the cast of “Peacemaker” are all expected to return for the second season which has yet to announce a production start date. One thing Gunn does guarantee though is the second season will have a different but “equally magnificent” opening credits sequence.
