Bleecker Street has premiered the official trailer for Anton Corbijn’s new thriller “A Talent for Murder,” which stars Helen Mirren along with “Solo” and “Weapons” actor Alden Ehrenreich.
Hailing from Dutch filmmaker Anton Corbijn (“The American,” “A Most Wanted Man”), the film is an adaptation of the 2014 play “Switzerland” and centers on a real-life figure – “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and “Strangers on a Train” author Patricia Highsmith.
The story follows Edward Ridgeway (Ehrenreich), a young literary agent from a New York publisher who is sent to the Swiss Alps.
There, he must seek out the renowned novelist and convince her to write one final installment of her Tom Ripley series. However, it quickly becomes clear his intentions are not what they seem.
As the pair begin to craft a story, secrets begin to unravel, and the collaboration becomes dangerous.
The character-driven piece is being penned by Joanna Murray-Smith. The movie has its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
Olivia Cooke and Juliet Stevenson co-star in the film which opens on October 23rd.
