Following a trailer for the overall trilogy a month ago, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and DC Studios have unveiled the trailer for the first part of the upcoming animated adaptation of the “Batman: Knightfall” saga.
This adapts the first part of the famed three-part comic storyline from 1993-1994. It begins when Arkham Asylum has been destroyed, and all its inmates have been unleashed upon Gotham City.
As Batman races to round up some of his greatest enemies, he is pushed to his physical and mental limits and into a final confrontation with a new threat: a ruthless and super steroid-enhanced genius called Bane who orchestrates a campaign to physically and psychologically exhaust Batman before confronting him.
The key cast includes “Hell on Wheels” and “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” star Anson Mount as Batman/Bruce Wayne, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “Far Cry 3” game villain Michael Mando as Bane, and “The Wire” and “Halo” alum Pablo Schreiber as Azrael.
Jeff Wamester directs, and Jeremy Adams pens this first film ‘Knightfall’ which arrives on digital on August 25th.
The second and third parts, ‘Knightquest’ and ‘KnightsEnd’, will be released at a later date.
