20th Century Studios’ “The Devil Wears Prada 2” pulled in a reported $10 million in Thursday night previews domestically.

Internationally, the film is doing considerably better – snagging a further $40.5 million overseas to date.

Those numbers mean the sequel is still very much on track to meet projections of an $80 million domestic and $180 million worldwide opening weekend. That’s essentially triple the first film’s $27 million domestic opening weekend twenty years ago.

Coming in on a budget of $100 million, the title has hit 45 markets to date, including major European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, China, Mexico and Brazil – opening in No.1 or as the top non-local film in all those markets.

Review-wise, the film is sitting just above the original on Rotten Tomatoes with a 79% positive vs. a 76% positive rating.

The Adam Scott-led “Hokum” also opens this weekend and pulled in $600,000 in Thursday previews.
