With filming having officially commenced on the “John Wick” spin-off film “Caine,” Lionsgate has created a logo-style ‘in production’ teaser, which you can see below.
The video predominantly focuses on the character’s signature weapon, a sword hidden within his walking stick. Shooting on the project will take place in Europe and Hong Kong.
Donnie Yen directs the film and stars as the blind assassin character last seen in “John Wick: Chapter 4” in a post-credits scene in Paris with his daughter, having stopped the threats to her life.
However, the re-appearance of Akira puts things in jeopardy as she’s looking to get her revenge against the man for the death of her father.
Caine’s movie comes after last year’s Ana de Armas-led “Ballerina” and ahead of a prequel anime film, the sequel series “John Wick: Under the High Table,” and a potential fifth mainline ‘Wick’ entry.
Mattson Tomlin pens the script based on a previous draft by Robert Askins. Chad Stahelski, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee produce.
