With 30 second spots costing $10 million this year, only certain film studios are willing to fork out the cash for a spot during the Super Bowl.
This year’s list includes Disney, Paramount, Universal and Lionsgate with the titles expected to have spots now being revealed according to Deadline.
If there’s a surprise here, it’s that there doesn’t really appear to be any big ‘reveals’ on offer – almost every title getting spots are films that have already had teasers or trailers released.
Disney and Universal will duke it out. The former has “The Mandalorian & Grogu” along with Pixar’s “Hoppers” and “Toy Story 5”. The latter has “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” Steven Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day” and “Minions 3”,
Paramount is expected to have a spot for “Scream 7” and Lionsgate for “Michael,” and that’s about it.
Marvel Studios, despite having a hand in two films this year including “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” in July and “Avengers: Doomsday” in December, is reportedly sitting the event out.
Warners, Sony, Apple and Netflix are all sitting this one out, so no “Masters of the Universe,” “Mortal Kombat II,” “Supergirl,” or the live-action “Moana”.
