Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die marks the return of Gore Verbinski.
After catching attention with Mouse Hunt and The Ring, hitting it big with the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, bombing out with The Lone Ranger and then last-gasping with A Cure For Wellness, Verbinski is back with a movie that doesn’t have huge expectations and will perhaps allow him a bit more freedom to show us a bit more of what he’s got.
Personally, I’ve always found Verbinski interesting visually. He seems to get every dollar of a budget onscreen whether the movie is good or not.
Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die
The plot for Good Luck Have Fun Don’t Die is thus:
A man from the future travels to the past and recruits the patrons of an LA diner to combat rogue AI.
The film stars the always reliable Sam Rockwell.
Michael Pena also shows up. Remember when they cast Michael Pena as Mr. Rourke for the Fantasy Island movie? If you don’t, that is okay. No one does, but it was still pretty hilarious casting.
Michael. Pena. As. Mr. Rourke.
Bwhahahahaha!
The film is scheduled for release February 13, 2026.
