Mad Mikkelsen is looking to return as Hannibal, but in a series developed from The Silence of the Lambs. Brian Fuller, who was the original creator of Hannibal, would like to make more from the series.

While Fuller was talking to Screenrant, about his newest movie, Dusty Bunny, he was asked about a new series. He said he would like to continue the original series, which was cancelled eight years ago.

Fuller has said he would like to adapt The Silence of the Lambs, with Mikkelsen as Hannibal and, wait for it, Zendaya as Clarice Starling. He said:

“My dream project is to do a limited series of Silence of the Lambs with Mads and Zendaya as Clarice Starling. If I could put anything out into the universe, I would put that into the universe.”

At the moment, it’s all talk, but Fuller has a reputation for reinventing classic stories and getting studios on board.

We’ve always known that Jodie Foster’s Clarice from the original movie of The Silence of the Lambs is the best version. Well, I do, I know that Julianne Moore and Rebecca Breeds have played Clarice as well, but I’ve never seen the latter. Moore played her in Hannibal (2001) and Brands in the TV series Clarice.

The Silence of the Lambs was written by Thomas Harris, and he created an anti-hero/villain that everyone loved. You know, ‘If I was going to get killed and eaten, I hope it’s Hannibal’ type of way.

What do you think of a new series of The Silence of the Lambs? Is Zendaya the best choice? I look forward to the Disqus about it. #giggle
