A new report over at Redanian Intelligence (via What’s on Netflix) claims that British actor Barry Sloane has been cast as Destruction in the second season of Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman” comics.
Filming on the second season was underway for several weeks at Shepperton Studios in the UK before the SAG-AFTRA strike shut down production in July.
Destruction is one of the new Endless we’re expected to see in the upcoming season along with Delirium and Destiny, and is reportedly a series regular.
In the lore Destruction abandoned his post long ago and dropped all contact with his siblings. He’s portrayed as a friendly, tall and muscular man.
There are seven members of the Endless which include first season stars Tom Sturridge as lead character Dream, Kirby Baptiste as Death, Donna Preston as Despair and Mason Alexander Park as Desire.
On TV, Sloane is known for his roles in shows like “Revenge,” “Six” and “Longmire,” but he’s also for his work in gaming as Captain John Price in the “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” series.
It joins other casting reports related to the production this week, Daphne Alexander and Tafline Steen are rumored to have joined the second season in the roles of Bromie and Xantho respectively.
