A new report suggests the upcoming live-action He-Man film “Masters of the Universe” is going to go an unexpected route.
Scooper DanielRPK reports that in this version Prince Adam isn’t a powerful warrior from Eternia. Instead, he’s a young man stuck in a tedious real world office job on Earth.
Those fantasy tales of He-Man and his battle against Skeletor? Those are childhood stories Adam grew up hearing when he was little. Thus the film won’t be just a magic battle tale but will have a self-discovery/self-actualisation arc for the character.
The report comes as the film’s star Nicholas Galitzine posted a photo on his Instagram stories which has somewhat shown off how his gym work is going for the role of Adam – the normally skinny actor looking quite swole in a long sleeved shirt whilst also revealing more grown out hair.
The Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel film also stars Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops. Multiple roles however remain to be cast.
Travis Knight is directing the film from a script by Chris Butler but plot specifics are under wraps. The film will shoot early next year ahead of a June 2026 release.
