A shadow stands on the horizon as Paramount Pictures releases the second official trailer for their upcoming sequel film Sonic the Hedgehog 3. View trailer below.
Sonic the Hedgehog returns to the big screen this holiday season in his most thrilling adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.
I have to be quite honest; I am getting more excited for this movie. While I do think that these Sonic movies are getting mor bigger and better, such a commonplace ambition is always one of the many pitfalls of sequel film treatment, with the newer installment always trying to “one up” the previous one and losing focus on what made the predecessor enjoyable and likeable. This new trailer showcases plenty of new footage, including some humor funny moments (the scene at the end of the preview is hilarious) as well as some more dynamic / dramatic moments within. It will be interesting to see how this third installment will be compared to the previous two Sonic movies. However, I think that this particular sequel will be a quite the crowd pleaser for its fan base. Can’t wait to see it.
