Robert Eggers’ Christmas-release horror film “Nosferatu” has landed an R rating for “bloody violent content, graphic nudity and some sexual content”. All three of Eggers’ prior films (“The Witch,” “The Lighthouse,” “The Northman”) were rated R as well.
The film is a reimagining of the 1922 silent German movie of the same name. It follows the obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake. Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Willem Dafoe star. [Source: Film Ratings]
The Artful Dodger
Disney+ and Hulu have given the go-ahead for a second season of its Thomas Brodie-Sangster-led series “The Artful Dodger” which follows characters from “Oliver Twist” who are now in 1850s Australia. Filming begins next year in Sydney.
The season picks up where the heart’s desires of Dodger, Fagin, and Lady Belle left off, promising more cunning thievery, snappy humor, life-and-death surgeries, and romance with a twist. David Thewlis and Maia Mitchell also return. [Source: Disney]
Wuthering Heights
Hong Chau (“The Night Agent”), Alison Oliver (“Saltburn”), and Shazad Latif (“Nautilus”) have taken the three major remaining roles in “Saltburn” director Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Emily Bronte’s “Wuthering Heights”.
Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi will headline the film which begins shooting in 2025. The book follows two families – the Earnshaws and the Lintons – and their relationships over the course of several years. [Source: Deadline]
Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Paramount Pictures has released a new batch of a dozen character posters from the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”. The film is slated to open in cinemas on December 20th.
The one-sheets offer new looks at some of the cast including human characters played by Jim Carrey, Lee Majdoub, Krysten Ritter, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and more along with the creatures voiced by Ben Schwartz, Keanu Reeves, Colleen O’Shaughnessey and Idris Elba.
