By The Tim Burton-directed “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is expected to drop around 60% in its second weekend at the U.S. domestic box-office.
Even so, it will still garner around $44 million – making it the second best second weekend in September behind only the $60.1 million sophomore haul of the first “IT”.
Between Friday and Tuesday, the film racked up $126 million domestically. At its current rate, it is estimated will end its domestic run just shy of $300 million.
Joining them is Blumhouse and Universal’s $15 million-budgeted horror thriller “Speak No Evil” starring James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy. It is tracking for a $10 million start and has been getting good reviews overall.
The Dave Bautista-led action comedy “The Killer’s Game” is currently only slated to do around $5 million for its debut weekend. The documentary “Am I Racist?” and Sundance acquisition “My Old Ass” also enter the fray.
Next weekend will see animated “Transformers One” enter the market and it will likely take the crown as it’s said to be targeting a $40-50 million opening.
