By With “Deadpool & Wolverine” cast and crew out giving interviews, one interesting quote has come up from Wendy Jacobson who was an executive producer on the film.
Before the team-up project, Jacobson was best known as a producer on a trio of Dwayne Johnson action films (“San Andreas,” “Rampage,” “Skyscraper”) before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as executive producer on the last few episodes of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”.
That series premiered last year to an interesting reaction with critics liking it but the audience deeply divided, not to mention behind-the-scenes issues with the visual effects costs.
Back in January, star Tatiana Maslany was asked about the possibility of a second season and responded at the time: “I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks’.”
Jacobson isn’t so sure the door is shut though, telling Comicbook.com that she doesn’t know whether the series will return for more episodes but gave insight into what the approach to a second season might look like:
“I mean if we’re doing more She-Hulk… What I love about She-Hulk is just kind of being in this character’s everyday life. It’s a woman in her thirties, trying to navigate her life and her career and her friendships, and oh, she just happens to also be able to turn into a Hulk.
So, I think I would love to explore more of that. There’s also a run in the comics where she goes into space and she’s adjudicating cases for the Living Tribunal. So, I either want to be super, super grounded in L.A., or I want to take her out into the multiverse or into the universe.”
Maslany starred as Jennifer Walters, an attorney specializing in superhuman-oriented legal cases but also had to deal with being a thirtysomething and occasionally becoming a 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.
The series hailed from head writer Jessica Gao and was directed and executive produced by Kat Cairo and Anu Valia.
