IFC Releasing has confirmed a May 10th release date for “Force of Nature: The Dry 2,” the sequel to 2020’s well-regarded Australian rural noir thriller “The Dry”. In addition, they’ve released the U.S. trailer for the film.

The first film was an adaptation of the Jane Harper novel of the same name. Harper has penned three books so far with the same lead character of Australian federal agent Aaron Falk. Each one has him investigating a different case.

This adapts the second book, “Force of Nature” with Eric Bana reprising the role he played in “The Dry” along with Robert Connolly back as director and writer.

In the new film, five female colleagues take part in a corporate hiking retreat in Victorian mountain ranges – only four come out on the other side. Each of the missing woman’s companions tells a slightly different story about what happened.

Falk and Agent Carmen Cooper (Jacqueline McKenzie) head deep into the isolated forest and mountains to investigate and hopefully find the missing hiker – Alice Russell (Anna Torv) – a corporate whistleblower who was their informant.

Deborah-Lee Furness, Richard Roxburgh, Robin McLeavy, Sisi Stringer, Lucy Ansell, Jeremy Lindsay-Taylor, Tony Briggs and Kenneth Radley co-star in the film, which opened in Australian cinemas last month.
