Max has announced a sudden price increase for the streaming service’s ad-free plans – an increase that will go into effect immediately.
The standard ad-free plan will now cost $16.99 per month and the 4K ad-free plan will now cost $20.99 per month, both up by $1 each.
The service’s ad-free yearly plans are going up even more with standard ad-free plan now $169.99 per year, up $20, while the 4K ad-free plan is up by $10 to $209.99.
Existing subscribers can expect the increase to go into effect during their next billing cycle on or after Thursday, July 4th.
The service’s $9.99 per month (or $99.99 per year) ad-supported subscription will remain the same price.
Warner Bros. Discovery raised the price of Max for the first time last year. NBCUniversal will also be raising the price of Peacock by $2 in July, and Disney is enacting its password sharing crackdown this month.
