Godzilla Minus Zero
“Godzilla Minus Zero,” the sequel to Takashi Yamazaki’s Oscar-winning “Godzilla Minus One,” will have its world premiere next month at the New York Film Festival. The film will be a Spotlight Gala selection at Alice Tully Hall on September 26th with Yamazaki and members of the cast and crew in attendance.
The sequel picks up in 1949, two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One, and continues the story of the Shikishima family facing a new series of pulse-racing events. GKIDS is scheduled to open the film in North American theaters on November 6th. [Source: GKIDS]
F.A.S.T.
Warner Bros. Pictures is moving its special forces commando feature “F.A.S.T.” to May 14th 2027, delaying the film around three weeks. Ben Richardson directs the film which follows a former special forces commando tapped by the DEA to lead a black-ops strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers.
Brandon Sklenar, Sam Claflin, Juliana Canfield, Trevante Rhodes, LaKeith Stanfield and Jason Clarke star in the movie which is penned by Taylor Sheridan. [Source: Deadline]
Mary Egida Rivera
Filipino actress Mary Egida Rivera, who played Ned’s grandmother in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” has died. She was 82 years old.
Rivera is survived by her husband, four children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who honored her legacy in tributes. Rivera reportedly had a stroke before being placed on life support. [Source: People]
Baywatch
Amazon Prime Video has picked up the Stephen Amell-led “Baywatch” reboot for multiple international territories. The deal includes much of Europe, Canada, Latin America and India, among other territories.
Under the deal, Amazon will also license the complete “Baywatch” back catalogue, including all nine seasons of the original Baywatch and the two “Baywatch Hawaii” series (but spin-off “Baywatch Nights” is not included). [Source: THR]
The Artful Dodger
Hulu and Disney+ series “The Artful Dodger,” the “Oliver Twist” sequel, has been renewed for a third and final season. Thomas Brodie-Sangster reprises his role as the thieving title character.
The series has become the most-viewed Australian original live-action title on the Disney+ service. David Thewlis also returns with filming getting underway in Sydney in the coming months. [Source: Deadline]
