The “Dune: Part Two” popcorn bucket has competition, though this time the designers made it with the jokes plainly intentional.
Actor Ryan Reynolds has revealed the design of the popcorn bucket for this year’s sole Marvel Studios film “Deadpool & Wolverine”.
Releasing it as a video on his YouTube channel, Reynolds captioned the video with: “Years from now they will look back at 2024 as the year the War of the Popcorn Buckets began.”
The result is a highly suggestive replica of Wolverine’s head with his open mouth forming the hole. The video goes even further with the teases that include hot butter.
The film generated between $8-9 million on opening day of pre-sales, and is expected to have an opening weekend domestic debut above $100 million – something no film has achieved so far this year.
It also looks to have the potential to become one of the highest-grossing R-rated movies of all time, well beyond the first two films which landed at $782 million and $785 million respectively.
