“The Lincoln Lawyer” series star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is reportedly in negotiations to join Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey in the new “Jurassic World” movie at Universal and Amblin Entertainment.
Specifics of his role are under wraps but it will mark his biggest film role to date and follows on from roles in “6 Underground,” “Murder of the Orient Express,” “The Magnificent Seven,” “A Man Called Otto” and “Sicario: Day of the Soldado”.
The project is being dubbed “Jurassic City” and hails from “The Creator,” “Godzilla” and “Rogue One” filmmaker Gareth Edwards. David Koepp, who penned Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World” films, has penned the script.
The project is expected to be something of a partial reboot of the franchise with none of the cast from either the “Jurassic Park” or “Jurassic World” films involved and events unfolding in the same continuity albeit years later.
Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are producing the film which already has a July 2nd 2025 release date. Production is rushing to get underway at Sky Studios Elstree in the UK this Summer.
