Hot off his starring role in and directorial debut with “Monkey Man” in cinemas right now, British actor Dev Patel is rumored to be in talks to co-star in the next ‘Jurassic’ film at Universal Pictures.

Daniel Richtman (via World of Reel) revealed the news, saying the project is being dubbed “Jurassic City” – a title that has been floating around for a few weeks but hasn’t been confirmed yet.

If he signs on, Patel would co-star with Scarlett Johansson in the film which hails from filmmaker Gareth Edwards (“The Creator,” “Rogue One”). Casting is expected to ramp up imminently as filming rushes to get underway at Sky Studios Elstree in the UK this Summer.

David Koepp, who penned Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World” films, has penned the script for this which is expected to be something of a partial reboot of the franchise with none of the cast from either the “Jurassic Park” or “Jurassic World” films involved.

That said, it is tipped to be taking place in the same continuity as the earlier films – just years later. Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are producing the film which already has a July 2nd 2025 release date.
