Marvel Studios is gearing up to film the new “Fantastic Four” later this year with “Stranger Things” breakout Joseph Quinn set to play Johnny Storm in the new film.
Taking part in a panel at the Facts Comic-Con in Belgium this weekend (via Collider), Quinn spoke publicly for the first time about his new job following the announcement of his casting back in February, saying:
“I’m really excited! I still can’t believe it, it’s crazy. We have a great group. When I spoke to Matt, the director, he had a brilliant vision for this, and the group we have, it was a no brainer. I definitely wanted to be a part of it.”
When asked about his preparation for the role, he joked: “I’l lbe setting myself on fire for real… every day.”
The comments follow in the wake of the reveal earlier this week from “Red, White & Royal Blue” and “The Idea of You” star Nicholas Galitzine who told Variety he had “conversations” to play Johnny Storm at one point.
Quinn will be joined in the cast by Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Julia Garner in the film which aims to release July 25th 2025. Before that, Quinn will be seen later this year in both “A Quiet Place: Day One” and Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator” sequel.
