Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, has confirmed that the recently acclaimed hit “X-Men ’97” is getting a third season.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Winderbaum casually confirms that the company is “developing season three” of the series.

Before now, Marvel would only confirm they were in production of the second season and wouldn’t confirm anything beyond that.

When series creator Beau DeMayo was fired ahead of the series premiere, the reports indicated he had completed writing duties on the second season and had been ‘discussing loose ideas” for Season 3.

Now though, the third season will mark the first from a new creative chief and head writer – one who has yet to be announced.

An earlier rumor suggested Marvel Studios has plans to continue the series for up four seasons.
