Netflix has released the trailer for “Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp,” a new combo live-action/CG animated film starring the famed cartoon character.
Eric Bauza, who played the character in the 2017 film, reprises the role in this sequel in which the bird must find a new home after being kicked out of the forest.
He ends up at Camp Woo Hoo, where he thinks he’s found a forever home, and he must help keep the camp open as an inspector tries to shut it down.
Also starring are Kevin Michael Richardson as the voice of Buzz Buzzard and Tom Kenny as Wally Walrus. In terms of on screen human roles there’s Mary-Louise Parker, Josh Lawson, Chloe De Los Santos, Esther Son, Evan Stanhope and George Holahan-Cantwell.
Jon Rosenbaum directs from a screenplay by Cory Edwards, Jim Martin, and Stephen Mazur. The film was produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment in co-production with Universal Animation Studios. It will release on Netflix on April 12th.
