Production on a third season of the multiple Emmy-winning series “Euphoria” has been delayed again according to HBO.
A spokesperson tells Variety: “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
The statement confirms Sam Levinson is still involved in the show with the third season still being written, thus plans for it to air in 2025 seem unlikely now.
It also confirms the show is still going as a report emerged over the weekend that the third season had been scrapped entirely.
Multiple cast members like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Colman Domingo are amongst the most in-demand actors out there right now so scheduling is no doubt a nightmare.
Levinson is also coming off “The Idol,” the poorly received and rather infamous HBO show starring musician The Weeknd which underwent controversy over its production.
The death of co-star Angus Cloud last year is also still potentially weighing on the cast. It begs the question even if it goes ahead, can this be anything but a final season?
