Skydance New Media and Marvel Games have premiered the trailer for the upcoming video game “1943: Rise of Hydra” which will release next year.
This is the Marvel game that original award-winning “Uncharted” trilogy game director Amy Hennig has been working on – a narrative-driven adventure game set in the Marvel Universe with Hydra as the enemy.
The game puts the focus on Steve Rogers’ Captain America and Black Panther, the latter being King T’Chanda at the time the story takes place. Two other key characters are Howling Commandos soldier Gabriel Jones, and Nanali who is in charge of Wakanda’s fledgling spy network.
The game’s trailer reveal took place at the start of Epic’s “State Of Unreal” presentation at the 2024 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco on Wednesday.
The title was developed with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine. Disney recently took a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games, dubbed its “biggest foray into the game space ever” and leading to a “huge Disney universe” in “Fortnite”.
Details about Epic’s eagerly anticipated release of Unreal Engine 5.4 and more title announcements and release dates are expected to be forthcoming shortly.
