The recently Oscar-nominated Jeffrey Wright has set his next feature.
The former “Westworld” and “Angels in America” star is set to join Denzel Washington in filmmaker Spike Lee’s next movie “High and Low” at Apple Studios and A24.
The project is an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa’s famed 1963 Japanese crime thriller of the same name.
That follows a shoe executive that was in the middle of a complex corporate takeover when his plans are derailed by the accidental kidnapping and ransom of his chauffeur’s son, instead of his own son.
Alan Fox and Lee penned the new version which was developed and produced by A24, Escape Artists and Mandalay Pictures. Ilfenesh Hadera also stars/
A24 will give the film a theatrical release before its global launch on the Apple TV+ service. A release date has yet be announced.
