“Knives Out,” “Looper” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” filmmaker Rian Johnson and his T-Street production banner have signed a two-picture producing pact with Warner Bros. Pictures.
The news follows in the wake of other high-profile deals with the likes of Tom Cruise, Margot Robbie and director Ryan Coogler that Warners has made in recent months.
Johnson and his producing partner Ram Bergman will produce the features, which will likely come after Johnson’s third “Knives Out” film that aims to begin production later this year.
Warners film bosses Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy say in a statement:
“Rian and Ram are the masterminds of so many wildly entertaining films and are a brilliant creative duo who will be right at home among the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group family of storytellers who are working to bring more great movies to theatergoers globally. As Warner Bros. Discovery continues to invest in the future of entertainment for audiences of all ages, we are beyond excited to have Rian and Ram here with us.”
The pair’s T-Street also produced Peacock’s acclaimed “Poker Face” series, “Fair Play,” recent Oscar winner “American Fiction” and this week’s Netflix sci-fi epic series “3 Body Problem”.
