Rockstar Games and Netflix have released their nearly 30-minute Netflix special showing off entirely in-game footage from “Grand Theft Auto VI”.
Captured on a base PS5, the demo shows a drug deal going back before showing off more mundane life, like lead characters Jason and Lucia in an apartment, where he takes food out of the fridge.
It then shows us in-game driving and some emergent events around the city, along with seamless character swapping. Missions can be played as either character, and missions can be completed either together or separately.
New details have also emerged in various reports. The game sports around 80 hours of main story, not including side missions. It has double the animations in “Red Dead Redemption 2,” and over ten times the amount in GTA5.
Players can drive a fan boat across the Florida-style Everglades, kayak across open water, participate in dirt bike races, mini-golf, scuba diving, and base-jump off buildings.
Players can take on robberies, with one player robbing the store and the other serving as the getaway driver, while you can swap clothing items before committing a crime to reduce your wanted level.
Working out visibly builds and tones your muscles; food affects your weight, and going days without sleep will have a serious impact. You can also doomscroll.
A dynamic romance system means texting and all sorts of other factors can influence your relationship, as does doing activities together, but there are no specific gameplay benefits earned by building a strong romantic connection. Thus, romance is completely optional.
You’ll have to earn money in order for the flow of main missions to continue – be it by robbery or boosting cars.
The title is currently set to run at 30 fps on all consoles at launch, resolution or performance modes have not been detailed.
