Nathan Fillion will reprise his Guy Gardner/Green Lantern role in the upcoming DC adult animated TV series “Mister Miracle”.
It will mark his overall fifth time as the character following his introduction in James Gunn’s “Superman” last year.
Since then, his take on the character had a cameo in the second season of “Peacemaker,” will appear in HBO’s upcoming “Lanterns” series, and is expected to return in next year’s “Man of Tomorrow” which is currently shooting.
“Lanterns” showrunner Tom King revealed Fillion’s “Mister Miracle” involvement while speaking with EW:
“We brought Nathan into Mister Miracle’s show, and doing that, it’s just so wonderful. He brings that energy to every aspect of it. And you would think it would be different tonally from [Lanterns], but it blends because that’s who Guy is. He’s that guy who is over the top. We all know that guy who’s a little bit like that.”
The DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation series will follow Scott Free and his wife, Big Barda, living a quiet life on Earth. The show will also feature Darkseid and the war between Apokolips and New Genesis.
Earlier this year, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn confirmed that the series will be set in the DCU canon. No release date has been set at this time.
