Actor Macaulay Culkin was recently spotted on the Disney lot, sparking talk about a potential relaunch of the “Home Alone” franchise.

The Town podcast’s Matt Belloni says “Disney is salivating” over the possibility of another sequel with Culkin returning, something the actor has refused to do for over three decades.

The scooper claims the studio is “extremely eager to make this happen and is actively courting the actor” who is seen as a “major draw” if it were to happen.

Belloni says what’s different this time is that Culkin has already developed a specific idea for a new film and, having spoken with people who have heard the pitch, it seems the actor has come up with a “really good idea” that could revive the franchise.

Now 45 years old, Culkin confirmed last year at an event he was open to returning to his Kevin McCallister role, saying it “would have to be just right”.

Culkin returned for “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” but skipped the multiple and often direct-to-video or TV sequels that followed.
