Hot on the heels of the news that “The Mandalorian and Grogu” film hits digital PVOD platforms next week, Disney has announced a related Disney+ Special.
The all-new “LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian” animated special will arrive on the Disney+ streaming service on Wednesday, September 2nd. The special has the tagline “Two unlikely heroes click together”.
Specifics of the special are under wraps beyond it involving Mando and Grogu getting into adventures together.
The date is interesting. “The Mandalorian and Grogu” released in cinemas on May 22nd and is hitting PVOD on July 21st and disc on August 25th.
In the last two years, Disney has been pretty consistently sticking with a 95-105 day window between a film’s theatrical release and its Disney+ premiere. September 2nd is exactly 102 days after the movie’s cinema release.
While Disney hasn’t revealed an official date for “The Mandalorian and Grogu” on Disney+, the movie premiering the same day as the special seems quite possible.
