The new Jonah Hill-directed comedy “Cut Off” has been deemed “unreleasable” according to studio sources in a new report at Puck News.

The project was initially slated to release in July. Then, on May 1st, Warner Bros. Pictures pulled the title from the studio’s calendar and hasn’t set a new date.

There’s also been no promotional material released from the film, which stars Hill and Kristen Wiig as wealthy mid-40s siblings who suddenly find themselves cut off from the financial support of their rich parents.

This forces them to navigate adult life on their own financially for the first time. Bette Midler, Nathan Lane, Adriana Barraza, Camila Cabello, and Chelsea Peretti also star.

Test screenings reportedly did not score well, and the new report indicates the film’s fate isn’t expected to be determined until after the Warner Bros.-Paramount deal is completed. Then it becomes an issue that David Ellison will have to make a decision on.

Hill is coming off negative reviews for his previous directorial effort “Outcome,” starring Keanu Reeves, which released back in April on Apple TV.
