Consoles
Circana’s latest video games sales report indicates console sales are slumping hard. They say PS5 unit sales declined by 58% compared to last May, while Xbox Series hardware units fell by 12% – the reasoning put down to the large price spikes.
The result is that in terms of hardware unit sales, PlayStation fell to its lowest since May 2000, while Xbox just had its worst May on record in terms of hardware unit sales. “007 First Light” was May’s number one title in full game dollar sales. [Source: VGC]
Five Nights at Freddy’s 3
Gary Dauberman (“IT,” “The Nun”) has reportedly been set as the writer of the next “Five Nights at Freddy’s” film at Atomic Monster and Universal.
Comments from actor Skeet Ulrich recently indicated “It Follows” filmmaker David Robert Mitchell was up for the gig but that’s not the case. Emma Tammi is expected to return as director while game creator Scott Cawthon produces. [Source: THR]
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Sony Pictures has premiered a new featurette for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” one showcasing how the film honors some of the comic’s most famous covers.
The clip offers new footage, including some flashy footage of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man battling Michael Mando’s Scorpion. The new film opens in cinemas on July 31st.
Loving Dory
