Sharks are so hot right now. We all got excited about Thrash recently, but then we saw it, and it was not great. Well, now get ready to be Chum.
MMMMM… Sharks and bikinis, what more could a man ask for? Some helicopters exploding and a vampire, I guess.
Chum star Alice Eve, Eric Michael Cole, Jim Klock, Elle Haymomd, Lisa Yaro, Johnny Gaffney, Robert Grose, and Sarah Siadat. It’s a new director, only known for shorts, and written by names I don’t know. One of them wrote a movie called Snake Out of Compton and Airplane vs Volcano, no, I’m not joking.
The story for Chum is pretty much given away in the trailer:
A newlywed couple joins friends on a Mediterranean yacht excursion, only to find themselves caught between a predatory shark and a psychopathic killer in their midst-transforming a sun-drenched escape into a fight for survival.
This is pretty much the same story as Dangerous Animals with Jai Courtney. The only difference was that it was a serial killer who would kidnap people, then feed them to sharks. It’s OK to copy this story, as no one saw Dangerous Animals.
In Chum, make the (human) killer have a reason for revenge, and you’ve got yourself a shark flick!
Chum will be released in theatres on the 5th June. Will you see it? Or are you a bit ‘sharked out’?
