Peacock has locked in an October 15th premiere date for its “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake”.
The NBC Universal-owned streamer is remaining very hush-hush on the storyline for the eight-episode series, which will star Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees – the mother of the young Jason (Callum Vinson) who drowned in the eponymous lake as a boy.
William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, Gwendolyn Sundstrom, Nick Cordileone, Danielle Kotch, Nancy Nagrant, Joy Suprano and Phoenix Parnevik all star in the A24-backed series, which hails from showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (“It: Welcome to Derry”).
The launch will be two weeks before Halloween, four weeks before an actual Friday the 13th taking place in November, and a full year after the production wrapped filming back in October 2025.
Peacock also announced that the Amy Poehler and Hugh Laurie-led and Greece-set comedy “Dig” will premiere sometime in November, and the Rose Byrne-led “The Good Daughter” will debut on November 12th.
In addition, the second season of “The Day of the Jackal” will return sometime in 2027, while “Ted: The Animated Series” is said to be “coming soon”.
