YouTube has reportedly terminated two prominent channels using AI to create fake movie trailers.

According to The Wrap, both the India-based Screen Culture and Georgia-based KH Studio have amassed over a billion views and boast over two million subscribers.

Some of their creations outranked the official trailer in YouTube search results and have duped YouTube viewers.

The channels were known for producing teasers and trailers for films, many based on famous IP. Both channels were reportedly removed after repeatedly violating YouTube’s policies regarding spam and misleading metadata.

A spokesperson tells the news outlet:

“After their initial suspension, these channels made the necessary corrections in order to be readmitted into the YouTube Partner Program. However, once monetizing again, they reverted to clear violations of our spam and misleading metadata policies, and as a result, they have been terminated from the platform.”

Google last week pulled down dozens of AI-generated videos featuring characters owned by Disney following the studio sending a cease-and-desist letter.
