Well, doesn’t this look interesting? Universal Pictures and Jordan Peele’s very own Monkeypaw Productions have dropped the first trailer for Him.
What is Him? The horror-thriller follows Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and entire identity, to football. This is all thrown into doubt when, on the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma.
Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans). White is a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, who offers to train Cam at the isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White (Julia Fox).
As the training develops, Isaiah’s charisma begins to change into something darker, sending his student down a disorienting path that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.
Comedians Tim Heidecker and Jim Jefferies star alongside MMA heavyweight fighter Maurice Greene and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack. Hip-hop star Guapdad 4000 co-stars.
Justin Tipping (Kicks) directs from the much sought after Blacklist screenplay from Limetown creators Zack Akers & Skip Bronkie.
Peele, Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson produce. Him opens in theaters on September 19th.
