The MCU is about to get a little “fantastic” as Marvel Studios releases the official teaser trailer for their upcoming superhero film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. View trailer below.
On a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic Earth, the Fantastic Four must protect their world from the planet-devouring cosmic being Galactus and his herald, the Silver Surfer.
I’ve been waiting for the “first look” trailer for this particular Marvel movie was going to be release. Like many out there of my generation, I saw the rise of the 2000s superhero movies, with the Fantastic Four having two iterations of them already on the silver screen. While the first set was good, it was still a bit cheesy and hokey at times, while the second iteration was poor conceived and executed. This preview showcases plenty of new footage from the upcoming film and I am interested to see what the film has to offer. I do like the cast involved and the whole 60s retro futuristic aesthetics is something different from the standard superhero platform. However, I do have a few doubts about this project, especially since this is the time try of bringing these characters to the big screen. Let’s hope that third time is a charm. All in all, I’m quite excited to see how this version of the Fantastic Four characters plays out and how it will ultimately fit into the bigger narrative timeline of the MCU.
