Amazon MGM Studios has set the cast for its live-action comedy “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie” which is being helmed by “Minions” veteran Kyle Balda.
The cast includes Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Hong Chau, Molly Gordon, Tosin Cole, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Conleth Hill, and Mandeep Dhillon all star.
The film will be based on Leonie Swann’s 2005 award-winning novel “Glennkill” and follows Jackman’s shepherd George Hardy who has a relationship with his flock that involves him reading them mystery stories aloud.
Little does George know that his sheep aren’t just intelligent but quite self-aware and capable of speech. When he’s not around, they all bicker about the whodunnit for hours on end.
When George dies suddenly, his flock recognizes someone killed him and try to solve his murder – leaving their meadow in pursuit of justice.
“The Last Of Us” showrunner Craig Mazin is adapting Swann’s novel for the big screen while Lindsay Doran, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produce and Phil Lord and Chris Miller executive produce.
“Three Bigs Full” is being slated for a February 20th 2026 theatrical release.
