Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, the writing duo on films like “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” and Amazon’s “Citadel” series, have set a new project.

Heat Vision reports that the pair will tackle a film adaptation of Disney World and Disneyland’s iconic “Space Mountain” ride.

The ride itself is an indoor roller coaster with a space-theme and became a fixture in the Tomorrowland section of at least five of the six Disney parks around the world.

First opening in 1975, the ride has no overarching theme or memorable ‘scenes’ allowing the writers fairly free reign for the project beyond it being set in the family adventure genre.

The pair’s joining comes three years after “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” scribe Joby Harold was hired to pen the script for the project.

Appelbaum and Nemec are TV veterans having written for shows like “Profiler,” “Alias” and “Early Edition” before going on to executive produce series like “Life on Mars” (US remake), “Zoo,” “Cowboy Bebop,” “High Fidelity,” “Happy Town,” “Fastlane” and “From”.
