Paramount Pictures and Paramount Animation have announced the voice cast for the new animated “The Smurfs Movie” starring Rihanna as Smurfette.

Joining her will be Kurt Russell, John Goodman, Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, JP Karliak, Dan Levy, Amy Sedaris, Nick Kroll, James Corden, Octavia Spencer, Hannah Waddingham, Sandra Oh, Alex Winter, Billie Lourd and Xolo Maridueña.

The cast was revealed as part of the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon on Thursday, one year exactly since Rihanna attended last year’s CinemaCon to announce she had signed on to voice Smurfette, contribute original music and produce the film.

The comedic, musical adventure sets out to “answer one of life’s biggest questions: What is a Smurf?”. Chris Miller (“Puss in Boots”) and Matt Landon are co-directing the feature which is set to be released on February 14th 2025.

That wasn’t the only news from Paramount Animation at the event. Paramount, Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have set the voices for “Aang: The Last Airbender,” the animated film adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon cartoon series.

Dave Bautista will play the villain opposite Eric Nam as Aang, whilst Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Roman Zaragoza also provide voices in the film which will release on October 10th 2025. The film is the first of a planned trilogy adaptation.

Also setting dates are “The Spongebob Movie: Search for Squarepants” for December 19th 2025, “Paw Patrol 3” for July 31st 2026, and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2” for October 9th 2026.
