Oscar-winner Damien Chazelle (“La La Land,””First Man”) has been set to direct a new untitled prison film at Paramount Pictures.

Story details of the film are under wraps but Chazelle wrote the original script and will produce along with his partner Olivia Hamilton through their Wild Chickens banner.

The project marks the first film Chazelle will direct for the studio since signing an overall deal with Paramount Pictures. He’s already set to produce the David Ayer-directed “Heart of the Beast” at the studio.

No other talent is attached but the project is moving fast with the studio aiming to get the movie out next year and meetings with talent taking place soon.

The director is coming off his lengthy, lavish and divisive old Hollywood epic “Babylon” which made just $63.4 million worldwide at the box-office with the studio estimated to have lost around $87 million on the film.

The project will mark Chazelle’s fifth directorial effort.
