Talk about great timing as this is a fun game and it will be interesting to see how the movie content is brought into the action.

Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) and nDreams today announced the free Frozen Empire update for Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord is launching on March 28 on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2.

In the game’s most content-rich update yet, players will be guided by original Ghostbuster Ray Stantz (played by legendary actor, writer, and comedian Dan Aykroyd) across a series of narrative-infused missions that tie-in with the events of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – newly released in theaters. Throughout their journey, players will wield powerful new equipment, face off against new ghosts, and work towards a thrilling final showdown against Frozen Empire’s villain, Garraka.

“The Frozen Empire update will be our biggest yet. Directly tied to Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire that just released in theaters, we’re bringing Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord players  to New York for the first time to answer Ray’s call for help,” said Jake Zim, Senior Vice President of Virtual Reality at Sony Pictures Entertainment. “Players will be able to visit the iconic Ghostbusters Firehouse, brought to life like never before through  virtual reality.”

Playable avatars from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will also arrive; step into the shoes and character skins of “Podcast”, “Lucky”, and “Lars” in this major content update.
